Our sweet pea arrived July 19th at 5:47am! She weighed 8lbs, 7oz, and measured 20.5″ long.
We came in to the hospital at about 4pm on Weds due to a pink tinge in the fluid I was leaking (risk for placental tearing caused the Dr to tell us to head for L&D) and after 4 hours of increasing contractions with little change- we decided to induce. They gave me an epidural and started the pitocin. At about 4:30am the epidural was not enough to keep me comfortable (happened with our first birth too) and the contractions & pains were felt from my hips up. I went from 5cm to complete in 45 minutes! I definitely needed to push & was praying our Dr would make it in time. He came in, gowned up, and one push later- out came Samantha!
Our Sweet Pea had apgars of 8 & 9. And started nursing right away. She did so well we only stayed one night and left the following afternoon.
Jovie is SO in love with her baby sister. She sang “Happy Birthday, Mantha” to her when she first held her. She loves to touch Samantha’s nose and say “boop”. She’s still learning, but is going to be a great Big Sister.
We took her to church on her first Sunday. And she had a very positive first Dr visit on Monday. A healthy, strong little lady. And an enormous blessing to our family! God is SO good.
